— originally from cardiff, wales. born to a human mother and a witch father.

— fairly standard, unremarkable childhood. attended a private witch school, made a couple close friends that he'd carry with him all through grade school, some of them all the way into university.

— attended university in aberystwyth, majoring in... idk, something boring and math-related, i am getting lazy.

— towards the end of his second year, elijah took a weekend trip up to leeds with a couple of his friends to meet up with some of their other friends who they hadn't seen since finishing grade school. it was during this visit that elijah had the misfortune of encountering a barghest — a creepy ass demon death dog — while out for a walk down a fairly underdeveloped and poorly-lit street, seeking out a decent place to admire the moon and perform a ritual or two under the light.

— fortunately ( . . .? ), elijah's light magic clashed with the barghest's mark of death, resulting, somehow, in him being cursed instead. elijah fled, because that dog was fuckin' jacked and probably one of the most unsettlingly terrifying things he'd ever seen, and also — because he knew he was friiicked.

— elijah soon sought out advice, wanting desperately to find a way to lift the curse, but even the more powerful witches he reached out to couldn't help. their advice to him was that he should leave and get as far away as possible, suggesting that he was probably marked, and that the barghest would come back to claim him. he could not cheat death twice.

— so he did just that. he packed up what he could, and put as much distance as he resonably could between himself and his home, and now... he's been living for the past four-ish months in savannah, georgia. it's just... an extended vacation. ( no, it's not. ) everything's fine. ( no, it's not. )

personality

— a little bit quiet, but not shy by any means. likes to be involved, but doesn't necessarily need or want to be the center of anyone's attention.

— generally pretty friendly and outgoing, despite his apparent quietness.

— sharp and quick-witted with a hidden sense of humor and a dash of cheekiness once you get past his unassuming exterior.

— very patient and difficult to anger ( with one or two exceptions ), and incredibly loyal to the point of almost being a push-over, but not quite. if he tells someone he's going to do something for them, he goes to whatever lengths to get it done and keep his word. ... also not very good at saying no when he probably should.

— in the same vein as loyalty, he's kind of... very set in his ways when it comes to his magic and his ( former-slash-pre-curse ) rituals. this has resulted in some... questionable practices that aren't really doing him any good, but it's fine. everything is fine.

— smokes... a decent amount. fairly recent habit that he doesn't actually like, but picked it up for specific reasons. it helps, is what's important.

— tends to not be so forthcoming with personal information about himself. he'll give his name and his age and anything else that's not too deep or invasive. he's not hiding anything. not... really.

— big night owl. sleeps or naps on and off for most of the day, awake at night.basically, his sleep schedule is all backwards, but he's not opposed to staying up during the day so long as he's got things to do to keep him awake.

— always looks a little bit tired, and sometimes, a little bit ill, but it's alright. he's all right. everything is fine.

MISCELLANEOUS

— hopelessly devoted to the moon and to his (former) light magic to the point that he often makes himself ill because he refuses to not use light magic. his dark magic rituals often incorporate elements of light magic, which obviously kind of... tips things a little off balance as far as filling his well goes.

— is often asleep during the day, and active/awake during the night. always a little sleepy.

— currently lives with bianca, an older witch with a lot of flare and attitude. she's basically savannah's witch matriarch. america is wild.
